Winner of the 2010 UPU Letter-Writing Competition to be chosen in Bern
The theme of the 39th UPU Letter-Writing Competition, organised by the Czech Post in cooperation with the Universal Postal Union for children up to 15 years, was Write a letter to someone to explain why it is important to talk about AIDS and to protect yourself against the disease.
Mucha on E- and Z-stamps: Already today, at any post office
Following the great success of the new stamp with Fifinka, the Czech Post offers further self-adhesive stamps, available from Wednesday, May 26th, at any post office. The stamps, identified with the letter E or Z, feature Alfonse Mucha's paintings as well as the next one of the four Čtyřlístek comics characters (Fifinka being the first). The last one is a completely new issue commemorating the victory of the Czech hockey team at the 2010 World Ice Hockey Championship.
Visit the Postal Museum to celebrate the International Museum Day
The Postal Museum will again join the annual International Museum Day celebrations. Both the Prague and Vyšší Brod branches of the museum will be open free of charge on Tuesday, May 18th, 2010.
A unique exhibition of the Czech Post and Prague Castle
„Prague Castle in the Art of Postage Stamp“ is a unique exhibition prepared by the Czech Post's Postal Museum and Prague Castle Administration. The exhibition will be open May 12th to August 1st, 2010 in in the Teresian Wing in the Old Royal Palace at Prague Castle.
New Czech stamps
April 28th, 2010 marks a historic milestone in Czech stamp design as the Czech Post's first self-adhesive stamp, identified with a letter in place of a value, is coming out. The new type of self-adhesive stamps will be identified with the letter A, E or Z according to the value and destination country.
